The kids had their primary program today and I was so thrilled to again be a spectator to their lives. I realized this morning I had not told anyone they were having their program today. I quickly called my Mom and she said she would be there and then I called Janie Wiggins, my previous mother-in-law. I knew it was last minute but she also said she would do what she could to be there.
You know I truly believe family is determined only by how you chose to define it. It was so wonderful sitting between two women that I love as my mother. Even though I am no longer Janie's daughter in law, we are related through my boys. We both love them. Even though I sat their alone watching my boys, I had family around me and I was reminded I am truly blessed. I am not alone. My wonderful Mother and best friend came to support me and her grandchildren. Janie and I shared a tear as the kids recited their parts and sang like angels. She brought Leah's girls and it was wonderful to have my nieces there. They look so much like their mother. My family unit is not like many others. Through Belle, we have family in Blackfoot in Wade and Trina Hawker and their two children. They love my daughter and they too, are family. (If you read this Trina, please know you are family to us.)
As the children sang the words to their primary songs, I could feel my Savior's love. He sent it to me in my mom and Janie and the sweet warmth I felt in my heart as I watched my children.

HEY!! Thanks for visiting our blog, it was nice to hear from ya. Hope all is well and I am looking forward to the family reunion.
That is so great that you have family so close to come and support you and your kids. Our branch is doing our program the week after conference. We only have eight kids, so it fun because they each get to take such a big part.
What a neat post.
